Lists a few examples from a larger group: "X, Y and so on".
How to form it
- Put や between nouns: 本やノート (books, notebooks and such).
- Add など after the last item to make the "and so on" clear: りんごやバナナなど.
- や joins nouns only.
Examples
本やノートを買いました。
I bought books, notebooks and so on.
りんごやバナナなどが好きです。
I like fruit such as apples and bananas.
Notes
- A list with と says those are all the items. A list with や says there are others.
