〜に対(たい)する

toward (before a noun)

The form of 〜に対(たい)して used before a noun: "(an attitude, answer, reaction) toward X".

How to form it

  • Put に対(たい)する between the target and the noun: 質問(しつもん)に対(たい)する答(こた)え (the answer to the question).
  • に対(たい)しての is also used.

Examples

彼(かれ)の私(わたし)に対(たい)する態度(たいど)が変(か)わった。

His attitude toward me has changed.

質問(しつもん)に対(たい)する答(こた)えを書(か)いてください。

Common mistakes

  • Using に対(たい)して straight before a noun. Say 質問(しつもん)に対(たい)する答(こた)え.
