〜について

How to form it

• Put について after the topic: 日本(にほん)の文化(ぶんか)について (about Japanese culture).
• It goes with verbs like 話(はな)す, 聞(き)く, 書(か)く, 調(しら)べる (look into) and 考(かんが)える (think).
• Before a noun, use についての: 環境(かんきょう)についての本(ほん) (a book about the environment).

• 〜に関(かん)して means the same and sounds more formal.

Common mistakes

• Using について for the target of an attitude. Say 彼女(かのじょ)に対(たい)して失礼(しつれい)だ (rude to her), not 彼女(かのじょ)について.
