Building block:The everyday script. Hiragana writes word endings, small words, and any word without kanji. You learn it first.
How it works
- There are 46 basic hiragana. Two small marks and small ゃ ゅ ょ make the rest: see marks and combined kana.
- Three hiragana have a second job as particles: は, へ and を.
